Abstract

The ideal husband and wife are relational with togetherness to complement each other's shortcomings, where in the language of religion with a family that is sakinah mawaddah wa rahmah. In the dynamics of domestic relations, it is possible that problems occur in one of the problems of the wife's role in marriage. This study wants to examine how the perspective of the Qur'an about the role of the wife in the household and her thoughts in the fiqh of munakahat. This research method uses descriptive qualitative by using a literature study which includes primary data, namely the Qur'an and the opinions of scholars, while the secondary data is various books of interpretation and scientific journals. The results of this study are that the Qur'an provides flexibility in the division of roles between husband and wife according to their level of ability without exceeding the limits of religious norms and propriety, while in the review of munakahat fiqh there are some scholars who forbid wives to move outside, while al-Qur'an -Suyuthi and Yusuf al-Qardhawi allow their wives to play a role in the public sphere
