This study discusses financial behavior in the Ngejot tradition in Kampung Jawa Wanasari. one
of the traditions carried out between religious communities to share food before the Religious
Holidays. The purpose of this study was to determine the meaning of the Ngejot tradition and to
determine the financial behavior of the people of Kampung Jawa Wanasari in carrying out the
Ngejot tradition. This study uses a qualitative approach with an ethnographic approach. Data
was collected by three methods, namely observation, interviews and also documentation. The
results of this study indicate that the Ngejot tradition is still carried out in the Javanese Wanasari
village community with some assuming the meaning of the Ngejot tradition is to expect the return
of the food or like debts, but many who interpret the Ngejot tradition as Shodaqoh do not expect
a return and are carried out on the basis of mutual sincerity. share. Carrying out this Ngejot
tradition requires a fairly large amount of funds, to continue carrying out the Ngejot tradition,
the community must be careful and thorough in managing finances, so that they are not
consumptive in making purchases.
