Abstract

This book presents the implementation of teaching and learning Bahasa Indonesia as one of Languages Other Than English or commonly called LOTE in Kingsbury primary school, Melbourne, Australia. The main objective of the investigation is to identify factors supporting and hindering the implementation of teaching and learning Bahasa Indonesia in Melbourne. The results of this study provide very important perspectives and pedagogical models in relation to the implementation of teaching and learning English in primary schools in Indonesia. This makes sense since the aims of teaching and learning Bahasa Indonesia in primary schools in Victoria, to some extent, are parallel to the aims of teaching and learning English in primary school in Indonesia.
