Abstract

Arabic language activities are a forum for students to develop their interests and talents and self-potential in improving Arabic language skills. This study aims to describe the management of Arabic language activities at Pondok Modern Daarul Abroor with the formulation of the problem how (1) planning activities (2) organizing activities (3) implementing activities (4) monitoring and evaluating activities (5) supporting and inhibiting factors of activities. This study used a qualitative descriptive method with the research subjects being two language staff and two students caring staff. The data collection technique used was participatory observation at the institution, structured interviews with language staff and student care staff and written documentation. Data analysis was carried out using data collection techniques, data reduction, data presentation, inference or verification. The results of the research are (1) activity planning that refers to good methods (2) neatly structured organization (3) in carrying out the activities of the pesantren leadership providing services, motivation, direction, and changes either directly or delegating tasks (4) monitoring and evaluation of activities which is carried out every week and each activity must be reported (5) supporting factors for activities: there are language activities, teaching and learning activities use Arabic, asatidz becomes uswah hasanah, there are rewards and punishments. Inhibiting factors: it is permissible to use Indonesian for new students, lack of awareness in understanding the importance of Arabic in their lives.
