Abstract
The purpose of the study was to analyze the economic effect of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on economic growth and equity. As well as analyzing simulations or policies in the development of MSMEs to encourage economic growth in West Java Province. This study has four variable blocks, namely 1) the block of economic growth and equity as the dependent variable block; 2) MSME performance block; 3) MSME capital block; and 4) simulation block for MSME development. The MSME development simulation consists of a digitalization development simulation, an infrastructure development simulation, and a human resource strengthening simulation. This study uses a quantitative approach with panel data formed from a time series of seven years 2015-2021 in 27 districts/cities in West Java Province. While the analytical method used is the Generalized method of moments (GMM). The results showed that the performance block of MSMEs and MSME capital was able to encourage MSME acceleration and economic growth. Both also have an impact on reducing inequality and poverty. While the simulation results show that increasing the development of the digitalization of MSMEs will increase economic growth, reduce poverty and inequality, but have no effect on reducing unemployment. The simulation of strengthening the Human Resources (HR) of MSMEs will increase economic growth and reduce inequality. This of course can be taken into consideration by the government in formulating policies and strategies for developing MSMEs in the Province of West Java Province
