Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of Arabic proficiency in the KMA 183 Arabic textbook from the ACTFL perspective, This research is library research with a qualitative descriptive approach and using content analysis techniques. The results showed that reading proficiency material was at a low beginner level and continued to increase to a high beginner level while writing proficiency material was consistently at a high beginner level. At the same time, receptive skills include reading and listening skills. Reading material as a whole has increased, wherein the first two chapters begin with the level of proficiency at the beginner high level (novice high), then increases at intermediate low. It is different from listening proficiency material which is consistently at the novice high level, thus showing that the process of transforming material changes can be enjoyed by learners in each chapter. As for the reading material presented in the textbook, it is at a level that is not sequential, so the goals to be achieved in this writing competency are not directed and structured.
