Abstract
Listening is very important in our lives, without the good hearing we can not contact and talk with others. And now many teachers, especially teachers of the Arabic language, did not appreciate and know what to do in teaching listening skills, with listening is the first stage the child acquires a language around it. In this research, researcher focused in the education of Islamic Senior High School of Tambakberas Jombang East because in this level, interest in teaching listening skills is very lacking with that teaching skill is important for us in the present or the future.
The purpose of this research is to know the method of study listening skill by using laboratory language and effectiveness of using laboratory language to developing listening skill at state Islamic Senior High School of Tambakberas.
This research uses qualitative-experiment research, and chooses all of students in the tenth-year at state Islamic Senior High School of Tambakberas Jombang East Java in 2010/2011 as the population wich consist of 1549 students. The samples of this research are the A-Class as the control class choosing 15 students in it and the B-Class as the experiment class by choosing 15 students in it also. This research uses observation, interview, questionnaire and test in collecting data.
According to the analysis of the researcher that there is a obvious difference between students who learn using the laboratorium language and students learn the language without the use of the lab.
The result of this research, the researcher know that the laboratory language used in teaching listening skills in the Arabic language by direct method and oral hearing in a good and intensive, which indicates that the large turnout of students when using this method. The use of laboratory language effective in teaching listening skills in the Arabic language in the Islamic Senior High School of Tambakberas Jombang East Java and difference of the student’s skill in listening Arabic is that the student who get good value in the control class and experiment class of using laboratory language is 6.2666.
