Abstract

This research has been motivated by one study program or selection obtained in higher education which results in learning achievement and lack of understanding of students with courses so that researchers are interested in examining this phenomenon because continuing higher education requires maturity in determining the choice to choose a campus and study program that has been developed. If desired,each election has its own reasons, both internally and externally. This study aims (1) to determine the most dominant factor influencing students in choosing social studies education study programs (2) to determine the effect of learning achievement amongsocial studies education students based on the influencing factors. The research method is a quantitative approach, the type of exploratory and correlational research is the 2019 2020, 2021 student sample batch of 188 students. Questionnaire and documentation instruments, data analysis using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption test, factor analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of the study (1) the most dominant factors influencing students in choosing Social Science education study programs, internal factors of interest with a percentage of 28%, (2) the influence of student achievement in choosing study programs based on internal factors did not affect student achievement, while based on external factors have an effect on student achievement
