Abstract
This article aims to reveal al-Ittijāh al-Adabī al-Ijtimāʻī in the interpretation of the Quran in Indonesia which ultimately leads to Ittijāh this interpretation is very contrary to the principle of religious moderation from the perspective of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. In principle, the researchers agreed that the interpretation of Indonesianis both pre- and post-Independence was more dominated by this ittijāh model. However, what is unfortunate about applying this method is that it tends to be Islamic Indonesia, not Indonesianized Islam. This is since Indonesian interpreters are more inclined to understand the improvement of local culture which is directed at the Qur'an. Because it is practiced this way, then it can be ascertained that al-Ittijāh al-Adabī al-Ijtimāʻī in the Indonesian interpretation is contrary to the four indicators of religious moderation of the Ministry of Religion. In fact, if al-Ittijāh al-Adabī al-Ijtimāʻī is defined and practiced in a different way, it can lead to a more flexible, accommodative, and not rigid interpretation of the Qur'an. To track all of that, this article uses the library method which is sourced from commentary books, Al-Qur'an science, and related journals. Furthermore, to draw conclusions using analysis-critical analysis. in this article uses the library method which is sourced from commentary books, Al-Qur'an science, and related journals.
