Abstract

The level of student engagement in academic activities at school influences the quality of education. Likewise, students can develop themselves if they are more involved in Islamic boarding schools. This community service aims to strengthen teachers as parties who accompany and instruct students to be more engaged in participating in various academic activities at school. High student engagement will affect increasing student achievement at school. Conversely, low student involvement will also affect student failure. This community service method uses Participatory Action Research (PAR), which produces awareness, commitment, and more progressive follow-up plans for teachers and students to become more involved in academic and non-academic activities. The service results show that teachers can understand how to teach and accompany students to be more involved, as well as students becoming more committed to being more engaged in academic activities at school and Islamic boarding schools. As a form of sustainability activity, this community service program is carried out to improve the quality of relationships between teachers, schools, and parents and to conduct joint monitoring to control the level of student engagement.
