Abstract

This book is designed for college students who are learning to write based the theoretical basis of academic writing. It covers information about the nature of academic writing which is relevant to the need of the college students’ writing. The book contains very valuable topics such as basic principle in writing, features of academic writing, making a Topic, Main Ideas, and Supporting Details of Basic Writing, Citation., Quoting by Paraphrasing, Summerising, and synthesizing, research gap and research report. What make the book is more interesting is its perspective of presenting topics and tasks in accordance with the students’ writing level. It also presents an integration of theory and practice in every unit. In addition, the book attempts to present more detail of the writing foundation to the novice authors by systematically guiding learners to learn such of the theories beginning from brainstorming, modeling, and task related to the provided topic.
