Abstract

An ideal translation is able to convey message from the source language to the target language. The accuracy of translation can be seen in several aspects, such as word
meaning, technical terms, clause-phrase, and sentence from the source language that can be conveyed without any distortion. This research aims to identify the accuracy and the kinds of the translation. The object of the research is a book entitled "Qasidah Burdah & Terjemahnya" translated by Ibnu Abroh. This is a qualitative research, with translation
studies approach. To find the accuracy and the kinds of translation, the researcher used theory from Mangatur Nababan and Mildre L. Larson. According to Nababan that the
accuracy level consists of accurate, less accurate and inaccurate, whereas Larson divides kind of translation into seven part that are, sangat harfiah, harfiah, harfiah yang
disesuaikan, campuran acak, mendekati idiomatis, idiomatis, dan terlalu bebas The problem of study in this research are: 1. How is the accuracy of Qasidah Burdah translation. 2. What kind of translation used in translation book of Qasidah Burdah?. The study shows that the accuracy level of translation is 84,66% accurate from the whole stanzas, and the less accurate level found is 11,66% and the inaccurate translation level is 3,68%. Moreover, this research showed that the translation of Qasidah Burdah used translation style such as harfiah, harfiah yang disesuaikan, campuran acak, mendekati idiomatis, idiomatis
