Abstract
Characteristics of Need for Endurance Measurement Results Based on Item Response Theory. The Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS) test as one of the most widely used personality test has not been revised since it was adapted to Indonesia in 1989, nor has its eligibility been empirically studied, including the need for endurance aspect. The eligibility tests need to be carried out periodically due to subject and environment changes. This study aims to evaluate the 28 items composing the need for endurance aspect. The responses of 212 participants (47 men and 165 women) on 28 items were calibrated using item response theory (IRT) two-parameter logistic (2PL) model. Results showed that there were two problematic items; due to extreme negative location index parameters and negative discriminating power. At the test level, the need for endurance aspect provides maximum information while measuring participants who have a low need for endurance tendency. It is suggested that EPPS developers and users should use this findings to be cautious in interpreting assessments involving these two items.
