Abstract

Reading the Qur’an at funerals between custom and worship in Libya. This is one of the titles that has not been scientifically researched before, given the people's circumstances, their customs, and their view of this issue in Libya, because of its scientific importance in identifying the main reasons behind people’s adherence.

Do the people of Libya consider this act to be a custom or at the core of worship, or does it hesitate between custom and worship, and how has this affected the difference in legal ruling due to this hesitation?

This issue is one of the ancient jurisprudential issues. It is a subject of dispute among jurists as to whether or not the reward reaches the dead, and this has been recorded in many works and research, but what is new here is that they used analogy to infer the permissibility of those who see this, and relied on the apparent meaning of the texts to prevent it. This issue in Libya oscillates between custom and worship, and since it is linked to the Qur’an, supplication after it, and charity, this is one of the legitimate acts of worship. In terms of its connection and connection with funerals, it is considered a funeral ceremony and included in customs, and the ruling differs between these two divisions. Whoever sees that it is for customs is closest to the ruling on its permissibility, based on the basic rule of permissibility in customs, except with evidence. Contrary to it, whoever sees that it is among the acts of worship takes the completion of the rule. The principle is to Stop worshiping except with evidence
