Abstract

This article analyzes the concept of love in Nizar Qabbani's poem "Hakadza Aktubu Tarokho Nisa" using Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotics and Erich Fromm's theory of love. Love is examined not only as a personal feeling but also as a reflection of societal norms and values. The research highlights how symbols of love in Qabbani's poem illustrate its evolving meanings in the modern world, portraying love as a force that transcends time and norms. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, the study identifies signs that convey the meaning of love and explores it as an art requiring responsibility and understanding. The findings suggest that Qabbani's poetry offers both a profound emotional experience and a complex cultural reflection. According to Fromm's theory, the poem encapsulates five forms of love: (1) romantic love, (2) brotherly love, (3) maternal love, (4) self-love, and (5) divine love
