Abstract

Purpose – Achieving the goals of Islamic education is challenging, especially for Islamic Religious Education teachers, they must continually evolve amidst this rapidly changing era. Among the skills they need to develop is proficiency in digital media in line with current societal needs. The digital world necessitates teachers to be more innovative and creative in classroom instruction. Teachers must be adept at accessing the online world, utilizing internet-based media, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence, which is currently being widely used.
Design/methods/approach – In this research, the author employs a quantitative experimental method. This study involves 31 students from the 11th grade of SMA N 9 Malang. Data are collected through the use of closed questionnaires, specifically employing pre-tests and post-tests given to the students. The obtained data are analyzed using Paired Sample T-tests in SPSS 26 software to provide insights into the research data and to address the predetermined hypotheses.
Findings – In accordance with the hypothesis testing results, it is evident that the first hypothesis supports the effectiveness of implementing Lumen5 AI media in PAI education. This is reflected in the increased post-test scores of students after the implementation of Lumen5 AI media compared to before its introduction. Based on the paired sample t-test conducted using SPSS 26 software, it is observed that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted, as the Sig. value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a difference between the pre-test and post-test results.
Research implications/limitations – The implementation of Lumen5 has significantly enriched the teaching and learning experience in PAI classes, fostering a more dynamic and engaging educational environment.
Originality/value – the importance of developing teachers’ skill in the digital platform, the significance of students understanding in PAI subjects by utilizing Lumen5, and the importance of creating interactive learning through digital platform.
