Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of the Ottoman Caliphate in the spread of Islamic culture in Europe and the Middle East from the 14th to the 20th centuries. Using the literature review method, this study analyzes the impact of Ottoman military, political, social, and religious expansion. The results of the study show that the Ottoman Caliphate played an important role in the formation of Islamic identity in a wide area through the application of Islamic law, an inclusive millet system, and contributions to architecture and science. In addition, the religious tolerance implemented has helped strengthen social harmony in various regions with different ethnicities and religions.
