Abstract

This article aims to explain the implementation of Ali Mustafa Yaqub's views regarding fashion for the Indonesian people, especially robes and turbans. The research of literature studies with the method of content analysis and descriptive analysis, this study produced findings in Ali Mustafa's thought, especially the turban and robe worn by the Prophet is an adjustment to the tradition of the Arab nation. For the Indonesian context, robes and turbans are typical clothing for scholars or knowledgeable people. However, over time, it is rampant imposed by individuals who have not reached a high level on the basis of religious knowledge or can also be said to be ordinary people, so that in its application they are misleading and used as a worldly field or show off and consider themselves better. Therefore, the implementation is that in clothing, clothing, robes and turbans are not a problem for those who want to wear them, especially for worship and also for people who are already scholars or high religions, but this does not require it as an identity of a Muslim, especially to the point of making oneself better than others and considering others who do not wear it are not Islam brought by the Prophet.
