Abstract
Reasoning skill has become more significant today particularly in facing the more challenging digital world. In terms of the rapid information in the latest century, it demands the reasoning skill of the netizen to filter the information to be valid and reliable. This paper discusses the netizen rhetoric shown in the chats on Indonesian issues in social media. The rhetorical strategies used in the chats characterize his way of making inferences. However, most netizen show incapabilities to identify potential fallacies. A fallacy is a misleading or unsound argument. The fallacies or flaw of reasoning showing the defect of one’s argumentation in social media leads the chat into faulty judgement.
