Abstract

Developing confidence in group discussions is essential for effective communication and improving collaborative dynamics within varied environments. Greater confidence is directly linked to enhanced participation and a greater willingness to communicate, particularly in contexts where a second/ foreign language is used. In such situations, worries about language proficiency can impede engagement. The supportive nature of group environments allows individuals to express themselves freely without the fear of criticism, which not only promotes personal growth in communication abilities but also enriches the overall learning experience for the group. Therefore, educational approaches that focus on building confidence in group discussions have the potential to facilitate more productive interactions, enabling all participants to gain valuable insights from one another and develop their important interpersonal skills.
