Abstract

The leadership of the Khulafa'ur Rashidun played a crucial role in shaping Islamic civilization after the death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The first caliphs—Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, Umar bin Khattab, Uthman bin Affan, and Ali bin Abi Talib—governed the Muslim community based on the principle of deliberation, in line with the teachings of the Qur'an. Each caliph contributed significantly to maintaining the stability of the ummah, expanding the Islamic territories, and developing a more organized system of governance.Abu Bakr unified the Muslim community through the Ridda Wars and initiated the compilation of the Qur'an. Umar bin Khattab expanded the Islamic empire to Persia and Egypt and established an efficient administrative system. Uthman bin Affan completed the standardization of the Qur'an in a single manuscript and strengthened the state’s infrastructure. Ali bin Abi Talib reformed the government and contributed to the development of Arabic grammar. The contributions of these four caliphs laid the foundation for the advancement of Islam in religious, social, and political spheres.
