Abstract

This article discusses the extent to which synergy between family and community contributes to improving the quality of education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Using a qualitative approach through desk research, it analyzes relevant primary and secondary sources, including books, scholarly articles and official documents. The findings reveal that family and community synergy plays a strategic role in fostering a holistic and supportive educational environment. Families contribute by shaping children's character early on through emotional support, learning assistance and being role models at home. In parallel, the community functions as an external pillar by providing resources, participating in non-formal education activities and fostering a social ecosystem conducive to learning. Despite their importance, these synergies are still not optimal due to several challenges, such as low levels of parental education, limited time for family involvement, lack of awareness of participatory roles and weak communication between schools and the wider community. This research contributes to the theoretical development of Islamic education management and offers practical insights and policy recommendations to improve stakeholder collaboration at the basic education level. Ultimately, strengthening family and community engagement is critical to building a participatory and high-quality education ecosystem in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah.
