Abstract

This research aims to examine Computational Thinking (CT) and critical thinking in the development of students' spirituality abilities in Indonesia and Malaysia. The research method used in this study is a mixed method with a convergence design. This approach consists of two main stages: quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative data collection technique used was questionnaire, the data analysis technique used was using the product moment pearson and alpha cronbanch correlation test and the hypothesis test used was an independent sample t-t or t-test which was calculated with the help of the SPSS 26 application to test the influence of the two independent variables on the dependent variables. As for the qualitative data collection technique by interviews and observations, the analysis technique used is data triangulation regarding the design of the implementation of computational thinking and critical thinking on the spiritual abilities of students in Indonesia and Malaysia. The sample in this study is students from Maualana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang, Indonesia, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The subjects of this study are students who participate in Computational Thinking-based learning programs and think critically about spirituality, as well as lecturers who are involved in the implementation of the program. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, which were analyzed to produce an in-depth understanding of the experiences and perceptions of students and lecturers. The results of the research are expected to contribute to the development of a holistic educational curriculum, which focuses not only on intellectual intelligence, but also on character development, spirituality, but also on character development and social awareness. This study also compares the implementation of the two dimensions between Indonesia and Malaysia, and identifies supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation
