Abstract

The general objective of this study was to develop an antiaging cream made from pegagan (C. asiatica) and moringa (M. oliefera) nanoparticles using a process that considers the principles of halal and toyyib and is environmentally friendly in an effort to produce halal cosmetic products in Indonesia. This study took 2 years. The first year of research was the formulation and characterization of antiaging cream nanoparticles combination of pegagan and moringa in vitro. This type of research is experimental. This study used a green extraction method consisting of Pulse Electric Field (PEF) as a pre-treatment with a combination extraction method of Microwave-Ultrasonic Assisted Extraction (MUAE). Synthesis of silver nanoparticles using a combination of pegagan and moringa bioreductors. This study used 4 formulations of variations in the concentration of pegagan and moringa nanoparticle combinations with 4 repetitions, namely F1 (0%), F2 (5%), F3 (10%) and F4 (20%). Testing of the physical characteristics of the cream formulation included organoleptic tests, stability tests, pH tests, spreadability tests, and viscosity tests. Irritation test was conducted on 8 volunteers. Biochemical character measurement in the form of antioxidant activity and SPF measurement with UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Total microbial evaluation using Total Plate Count (TPC) method. and cream stability test was conducted for 1 month. Quantitative data will be tested for normality and homogeneity then analyzed using 1-way ANOVA if there is a significant difference then a further Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) 5% test is carried out while qualitative data is analyzed descriptively then presented in the form of tables, pictures and graphs.
