Abstract
This research proposal examines the relationship between green financing and the performance of Islamic banking in promoting environmental sustainability, particularly within leading Islamic countries. It highlights the ethical and socially responsible investment principles that underpin Islamic banking practices, which align with environmental sustainability goals. The study identifies critical strategies for achieving sustainable economic growth, emphasizing the importance of financing environmentally friendly projects, such as renewable energy and clean technologies. A comprehensive dataset, including panel data from ten Islamic countries over a 12-year period (2013-2024), will be analyzed to investigate the influence of green financing on Islamic banking performance and its subsequent effects on environmental sustainability. By addressing these relationships, the research aims to provide actionable insights and recommendations for policymakers and financial institutions, ultimately supporting a transition to a more sustainable and low-carbon economy.
