Abstract

Actantial Theory in Structuralism of Narrative A.J. Greimas introduces six functions, namely subject, object, sender, receiver, helper, and opponent. This study aims to determine the actantial theory contained in the film Raya and The Last Dragon by using descriptive qualitative research. The data source of this research is the film Raya and The Last Dragon by using the watch and note-taking technique in data collection which is then analyzed using the stages of data identification, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that the theory of actan A.J. Greimas in the Raya and The Last Dragon contained eight schemes with different functions. The eight schemes are during the banquet invitation throughout the country by Chief Benja to come to Hati, Raya's search for the last Dragon, Raya's journey to unite the pieces of the Dragon Jewel, Raya and Sisu's journey to the Land of the Ekor, Raya and Sisu's journey to the Cakar, Raya and Sisu's journey to the Tulang, Raya and Sisu's journey to the Tulang, and the incident of the origin’s spirit of Kumandra.
