Abstract

The rapid pace of digitalization has transformed interaction patterns and emotional functioning within Indonesian families. At the same time, increasing rates of divorce and family suicides indicate declining emotional resilience, particularly as daily connections are increasingly mediated by screens rather than direct interpersonal presence. This scoping review maps concepts, empirical findings, and research gaps related to family resilience in the digital disruption era by examining literature published between 2020 and 2025 in Indonesian and English. The synthesis identifies three mechanisms that consistently strengthen adaptive family functioning: open and empathic communication, emotional and instrumental social support, and mindful technology management through strategies such as digital detox, family routines, and family rituals. Furthermore, public initiatives such as the 1821 Movement illustrate that time-bound gadget-free routines can enhance emotional bonding and reduce technoference within the family microsystem. Overall, the findings affirm that family resilience is not merely an individual adaptive capacity, but a collective psychological system grounded in emotional balance, shared meaning, and supportive relational ties.
