Abstract

The Leadership of the Mughal Dynasty as a Solution to Religious Intolerance in Indonesia from the Religious Moderation’s perspective. Indonesia has a long history of issues regarding religious tolerance violations. If left unchecked, this can lead to societal disintegration. Therefore, it is essential to identify exemplary models of religious tolerance within the Islamic world. One such model can be drawn from the Mughal Dynasty in India, considering the similarities between Indonesia and India as two nations with diverse cultures. Thus, examining the leadership of the Mughal Dynasty as a solution to religious intolerance in Indonesia becomes an interesting subject of study. This research aims to assess the relevance of the Mughal Dynasty's leadership in relation to the concept of religious moderation. This study employs a qualitative research approach with a historical method, grounded in library research. The findings indicate that the Mughal Dynasty's leadership, characterized by its tolerance, can serve as a solution to address religious intolerance in Indonesia. The Mughal Dynasty's tolerant leadership style in India aligns well with the understanding of religious moderation.
