Abstract

Behavior reflects an individual's personality and values, and plays an important role in personal, social, and professional life. This study aims to analyze and compare the process of behavior formation in developing personality based on the perspectives of Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah and Carl Rogers. The study was conducted through a qualitative approach with library research methods. Data collection used through the most relevant books and research articles. The results show that: 1) The process of behavior formation according to Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah has six stages, namely alkhatirah (trajectory), al-fikrah (settled thoughts), al-'iradah (desire), al-'azimah (intention and determination), al-'amal (real action), and al-'adah (habit); 2) The process of behavior formation according to Carl Rogers has five stages, namely awareness, interest, evaluation, trial, and adoption; 3) The difference in behavior formation in personality development, according to Carl Rogers, lies in subjective self-evaluation and self-actualization, while Ibn Qayyim emphasized intention, determination, and adherence to Islamic law to obtain God's approval, mercy, and blessings. This research can enrich knowledge about the process of behavior formation that influences individual personality development from the perspectives of Ibn Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah and Carl Rogers
