Abstract
Generation Z entering the workforce faces complex financial challenges, especially amidst economic uncertainty and the development of a consumptive lifestyle. One important effort to create financial stability is to build savings behavior. This behavior is influenced by various factors, including financial knowledge, self-control, and financial attitude. However, how much influence these three factors have on saving behavior can still be influenced by the level of one's confidence in managing finances or financial self-efficacy. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of financial knowledge, self-control, and financial attitude on saving behavior with financial self-efficacy as a moderating variable in Generation Z at UIN Malang who are working in various sectors. This research uses a quantitative approach method. The sampling technique used the theory used by Malhotra with a total of 95 research respondents. The measurement scale used is a Likert scale of 1-5. The data analysis method in this study uses Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with the help of SmartPLS software version 3.0. Data analysis includes testing the outer model (validity and reliability), inner model (R-square and Q-square tests), and hypothesis testing using bootstrapping techniques. The results showed that financial knowledge, self-control, and financial attitude have a significant effect on saving behavior. In addition, financial self efficacy is proven to be able to moderate the effect of financial knowledge on saving behavior, but financial self efficacy is not able to moderate the effect of self control or financial attitude on saving behavior.
