Abstract
This study aims to describe the structure of production as a form of women's oppression in Ilā Abī, a novel by Najla Luthfi, from the perspective of Juliet Mitchell. The study employed a descriptive qualitative method, with Ilā Abī serving as the primary data source. The data consisted of dialogues, narrative passages, and character monologues representing the structure of production. Data were collected through close reading and note-taking techniques and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the structure of production as a form of women's oppression is represented through three major patterns: gender-based division of labor within the patriarchal structure of production, the naturalization of domestic labor as a form of devaluation of women's work, and patriarchal control over women's access to the sphere of production. These three patterns demonstrate that women's subordination is constructed through social mechanisms that confine women to limited positions in both economic and domestic activities.
