Abstract

Hermeneutika yang dikembangkan oleh Hasan Hanafi bukan sekedar sebuah metode untuk memahami teks (al-Qur’an), tetapi mencakup juga penjelasan tentang proses penyampaian wahyu sejak dari Tuhan sampai manusia, dan perubahan yang ditimbulkan dari pemahaman atas teks tersebut. Karena itu, proses pemahaman teks dari hermenutika Hanafi terdiri atas tiga tahapan, yaitu kritik historis, kritik pemahaman, dan kritik praktis. Tahap pertama digunakan untuk memastikan orisinalitas teks, sedang tahap ketiga digunakan untuk memastikan bahwa hasil interpretasi benar-benar dapat digunakan untuk menjawab problem masyarakat. Adapun kritik pemahaman yang berfungsi untuk memahami teks digunakan dengan tiga cara, yaitu analisis linguistic, analisis situasi sejarah, dan generalisasi makna-makna. Selanjutnya, karena tujuan utama hermenutika Hasan Hanafi adalah menjawab problem riil masyarakat, bukan sekedar bermain dalam kata-kata, maka kunci utama metode ini adalah kemanusiaan. Maksudnya, semua interpretasi dan pemahaman harus diarahkan untuk mendorong munculnya gerakan-gerakan yang membela dan mengangkat martabat manusia, bukan membela Tuhan.

Hermeneutics which developed by Hasan Hanafi has not been just a method to understand the texts (the Qur’an), but also includes an explanation of the process of revelation from God to man and the changes resulted from understanding of the text. Therefore, the process of understanding the texts in Hanafi’s hermenutika consists of three stages, namely historical critic, understanding critic, and practical critic. The first stage is used to ensure the authenticity of the texts; the third stage is used to ensure that the result of interpretation really can be used to solve society problems; while the second stage, understanding critic which functioned to understand the text is applied in three ways, namely linguistic analysis, analysis of historical circumstances, and generalization of meanings. Furthermore, because the main purpose of Hasan Hanafi’s hermeneutics is to solve the real problems of society, not just playing the words, then the primary key of this method is the humanity. It means that all interpretation and understanding should be directed to encourage the emergence of movements that defend and raise human dignity, not to defend God.
