Abstract

The decree of ministry of religious affairs to assign our institution as one of two Islamic universities in Indonesia to be world Class University has encouraged us to prepare the human resources capable to communicate internationally. One of the demand to be world Class University is to equip all students to be able to communicate with English as an international language. English Language Center has the capacity to help to reach the goal. Besides offering English for specific purposes, the center offer Intensive Class Program of listening and speaking. The aim of the program is to facilitate students learning to master international language. This paper will present the teaching learning process of the program. It starts with the selection of themes to meet the demand of the institution. In the learning process, integrated skills are applied. Students are assign to listen, take a notes, and speak. In order to get more progress, students are assigned in a group of three or four to make a project based learning in the form of a conversation with native speakers or foreign English users. The project is presented in the form of report.
