Abstract

Dengue fever has been a critical issue in society, and there has not been a complete way to stop its spread. Dealing with the existing problem on the dengue fever in society, this study aims to eliminate the spread of dengue vector as the cause of the disease by using a health education program. To achieve the goal, the researcher employs Participatory Action Research (PAR) involving cycle/cycles comprising planning, acting & observing, and reflecting. The data from observation and documentation are analyzed. The results show that the people residing in the area behave positively for the program; having better knowledge on dengue, being more active in controlling their home from its threat, and being more alert to its danger. For the attempt to disseminate the experience, this study is aimed to encourage other researchers to adopt PAR to improve their practices.
