Abstract
An accurate enunciation is the most pressing needs in teaching speech skills among students at each level of study. This is necessary for students of the University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim, where students of this university are required to study and practice the Arabic language after they were registered, although they do not join the Department of Arabic language education. The important problem in the teaching and learning of the Arabic language is that they neglect the correct logical performance, which does not pronounce the word according to the literal Arabic characters, although they speak Arabic fluently and use grammar, syntax, and rhetorical methods. The objectives of this research are: to discover the performance of voice from the point of view of Ibn Gnei in the skill of speech to students of the University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim and the discovery of obstacles and solutions from these aspects. The researcher used the qualitative approach with the descriptive analytical method. A qualitative analysis was used in the model of Miles and Huberman for data collection, reduction, presentation and conclusion. The methods used to collect data are observation, interview and study of documents. As for the results of this study: 1) The mother tongue had effects on the pronunciation of students on some Arab voices. It is difficult for some students to pronounce the letters that have no equivalent in the mother tongue and can not distinguish the letters that brought their exits and attributes. 2) Lack of absorption of students in the knowledge and performance of the Arabic language. The students do not care about the pen, the toning and the vocal separators as they pronounce the word. They ignore these things and begin to pronounce the letters as they wish and most of them do not consider them to be the elements of vocal performance.
