Abstract
Integrated English Skils for Islamic College is written to accomodate the college student’s need of learning English integratedly. The necessity motivated the authors to design this book is to provide an opportunity for the students to develop their English skills more communicatively and meaningfully.
The materials of this book have been aranged and graded in accordance with their language level. In each unit reading passage is accampanied by Al-Qur’an or Hadits verses inline with the provided text. The reading questions are also aimed at making the students more actively involved in the reading process. In addition, vocabulary exercises presented are related to the topic of the text. The students are trained to reinforce their vocabulary learning through the text. Grammar and guided writing exercises are introduced with various model of tasks to make them more communicatively. The grammar tasks require the students to use particular language pattern in context. Besides, guided writing exercises are designed to developthe students’ ability to use vocabulary and grammar they have learned through reading process. Speaking and listening zoon are desiged with more innovative tasks to build the students’ active involment in communication practices.
Above all, the final touch to this book is done in between the efforts of reaching the collective vision and mission of smart department. The writers will highly appreciate any constructive criticisms and suggestions for better adition in the following years.
