Abstract
Psychopathic personalities are considered to have contributed in the act which bears to hurt other people. Several studies have consistently found a lack of empathy characterizes psychopaths. On the other hand, the relationship between parents and children that positively correlated with empathy the child. This research aims to look at the role of parent-child closeness as a moderator in the relationship between psychopathic personalities with empathy. This research involves 166 high school students who complete a psychopathic personality scale, quality of empathy scale and emotional relationship between child parents. The results showed that the psychopath shows influence negatively to empathy. So also with the quality of children's emotional relationship, parents have a positive influence of empathy. However, the emotional relationship of the child-parent relationship changes between psychopathic and empathy.
