Abstract

وليس باسنترين (Pesantren) أو المعهد مؤسسة تعليمية فقط ولكنه وحدة اجتماعية من المجتمع المسلم الاندونيسي المستقل والحضاري. وبقدرة التحمل الداخلي قام باسنترين بثبات واستمرار لخذمة الأمة والمجتمع وحراسة الحضارة. وإذا نشأ تاريخ الإسلام في إندونيسيا في الأصل من والي سونغو الذين كانت دعوتهم ونضالهم مركزا على نمط باسنترين، فهذا يعني أن باسنترين قد ساعد وجود الإسلام في الأرخبيل إلى هذا اليوم. لم يكن تذبذب الاجتماعية والسياسية والاقتصادية والثقافية على مدى السنوات قادرا على تغيير هوية باسنترين. وكان القضايا والانقسام الجدلي بين علوم دينية وعلوم عامة، وبين تربية رسمية وغير رسمية، وبين انقسام باسنترين إلى سلف وخلف، وبين تقليدية وحديثة وحتى ما بعد الحداثة يمكن التغلب عليها بشكل مستقل من قبل باسنترين. والآن، يواجه باسنترين بقدرة التحمل تدفق المعلومات العالمية والتقدم في التكنولوجيا الحديثة.

زُعمت المنافسة العالمية في جميع المجالات التي لم تعد مساحة محدودة والوقت قد أنجبت نموذجا جديدا للإمبريالية والرأسمالية والحداثة ومذهب المتعة والعلمانية والمذاهب الأخرى، فضلا المذاهب عبر الوطنية التي تهدد سلامة الجمهورية الإندونيسية. كل هذا يشكل تحديا للباسنترن أو المعهد كوحدة إجتماعية بل تحديا للأمن القومي. وهذه الرسالة تحاول استكشاف متانة أو قدرة التحمل لباسنترين، ومعرفة المشاكل والفرص له في مواجهة التغيرات العالمية. وبعبارة أخرى، إن أساس "المحافظة على القديم الصالح والأخذ بالجديد الأصلح" في إعادة الطعن. من جهة، وجب باسنترين على التكيف في تصدى تغير المناح العالمي، ولكن في جهة أخرى، لزم له القيام على التقاليد وجميع خصائصه.

Endurance of Pesantren to Confront Global Changes

Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) is not only an educational institution but also it has been a social unit of independent and civilized Indonesian Muslim community. By the endurance pesantren has, this educational and religious institution can exist and continuously serve the society, as well as guarding civilization. If the history of Islam in Indonesia is originally derived from Wali Songo whose model of education and struggle is based on pesantren, it means pesantren has evidently assisted the existence of Islam in the archipelago. Social, political, economical and cultural fluctuation over the years has not been able to change the identity of pesantren. Issues and polemical dichotomy between public science and theology, formal and non-formal, Islamic boarding schools salaf and kholaf, traditional, modern and even post-modern can be independently overcome by pesantren. The endurance of Islamic boarding school has recently been challenged in the hurly-burly of global information flow and progress of modern technology.

Global competition in all areas that are no longer limited by dimension of space and time is considered to emerge a new model of imperialism, capitalism, modernism, secularism, hedonism and other mainstreams-no exception, the return swift of transnational teachings that threaten the integrity of Republic Indonesia. All is a challenge for pesantren as a social unit and even the unit of national endurance. This article tries to explore the endurance of Islamic boarding schools that are attractive to explore. Additionally, this article is designed to map the problems and opportunities of pesantren to face global change. In other words, jargon “al-Muhafadzah 'ala al-Qadim al-Salih al-Akhdu wa bil-jadiin al-Ashlah” that has been regarded as inextricable principle in the body of pesantren is challenged. In one hand, pesantren is obliged to adjust in addressing global changes; on the other hand, it is obligatory that pesantren is highly recommended to keep maintained with the traditions and all its characteristics.

Enduransi Pesantren Menghadapi Perubahan Global

Pesantren tidak hanya sebuah lembaga pendidikan, tapi ia telah menjadi bagian dari unit sosial masyarakat muslim di Indonesia yang mandiri dan berkarakter. Dengan enduransi (daya tahan) yang dimilikinya, pesantren tetap eksis dan terus melayani umat, sekaligus mengawal peradaban. Jika sejarah Islam di Indonesia bermula dari Wali Songo yang model pendidikan dan perjuangannya berbasis pesantren, maka berarti pesantren telah terbukti mendampingi eksistensi Islam di Nusantara hingga saat ini. Perubahan sosial, politik, ekonomi dan budaya dari tahun ke tahun, tetap tidak mengubah identitas pesantren. Isu-isu dan polemik dikotomis antara ilmu umum dan ilmu agama, antara pendidikan formal dan non-formal, antar pesantren salaf dan pesantren kholaf, antara tradisional, modern bahkan post-modern, semua dihadapi oleh pesantren dengan caranya sendiri. Kini, di tengah deraskan arus informasi global dan kemajuan teknologi modern, enduransi pesantren kembali diuji.

Persaingan global di segala bidang yang tidak lagi dibatasi ruang dan waktu, ditengarai dapat melahirkan imperialisme model baru, kapitalisme, modernisme, hedonisme sekuralisme dan isme-isme lain. Tak terkecuali, derasnya kembali ajaran trans-nasional yang mengancam keutuhan NKRI. Semua ini menjadi tantangan bagi pesantren sebagai unit sosial dan bahkan unit ketahanan nasional. Tulisan ini mencoba mengeksplorasi enduransi pesantren yang menarik untuk ditelusuri, sekaligus memetakan problematika dan peluang pesantren dalam menghadapi perubahan global. Dengan kata lain, jargon “al-Muhafadzah ‘ala al-Qadim al-Shalih wa al-Akhdu bil-Jadiin al-Ashlah” yang telah mengakar di tubuh pesantren, kembali ditantang. Di satu sisi, pesantren diharuskan beradaptasi dalam menyikapi perubahan global, tapi di sisi lain, pesantren wajib tetap bertahan dengan tradisi dan semua karakteristiknya.
