Abstract

Low student learning participation in social studies learning process for VII grade students at MTS Ahmad Yani Jabung Malang Regency. Based on the problematic this research uses the Games Tournaments (TGT) learning model because this model is considered appropriate in increasing class VII students' learning participation in social studies learning that can help in building students 'social characteristics such as critical thinking, communication skills, collaboration and encouraging students' interest in learning and learning participation. This research is a class action research (CAR) conducted at MTS Ahmad Yani Jabung Malang Regency in 3 cycles. Each cycle was carried out for 2 meetings, the subjects of this study were students of class VII A as many as 27 students. The research data were obtained from interviews, observations and documentation. This study aims to(1) describe and analyze the implementation of the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model for social studies learning. (2) Knowing how student learning participation uses the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) learning model. The results showed that the application of the Teams Games Tournaments (TGT) model could increase student participation in MTs Ahmad Yani Jabung Malang Regency
