Abstract

Aggressive behavior can be interpreted as behaviors aimed at hurting or injuring others. Aggressive behavior are divided into aggressive physical, verbal, and relational. This behavior is not only detrimental to others but also himself so it needs to be prevented and handled immediately so as not to have a negative impact in the future. This research aims to know the effect of storytelling to overcome the aggressive behavior. The type of research is experimental single subject research with a graphic design of multiple baseline cross variable A-B-A. The subject in this study was a child with the aggressive behavior in a kindergarten. Data is measured using frequencies to see how many times a child performs aggressive actions. Aggressive behavior that appears on the subject is aggressive physical: hitting, pushing, kicking, pinching; Aggressive verbal: screaming, swearing and mocking; Aggressive relational: To deny a friend or teacher, and not to apologize. Data collection methods use direct observation. Quantitatively, the research results showed that interventions performed are able to lower the subject's aggressive behavior. It can be seen from the average frequency of aggressive behavior shown by the subject before and after the intervention, on aggressive verbal from 14.5 and decreased to 0.25. In aggressive physical from 6.25 and decreased to 0, in aggressive relational of the average 4 and decreased to 0 after administered treatment. After the intervention, the subject shows a positive change in its behavior. In other words, storytelling is able to help overcome the aggressive behavior of children.
