Abstract

Agricultural land is a vital object in fulfilling food in Indonesia. However, economic interests have reduced agricultural land. This article aims to describe the role of the Malang City Land Agency in controlling the conversion of agricultural land in order to create sustainable food land. This article is based on doctrinal legal research with a sociological approach. The results of this study indicate that the monitoring of agricultural land conversion has not been running optimally. The unavailability of data on agricultural land in Malang City is because most of them do not have clear ownership status. The reasons for unclear ownership status are due to administrative costs and the lengthy process for obtaining land title certificates.
