Abstract

The term holistic education has become a movement which began in the mid-1980 in North America as it is an idea of developing a person’s intellectual, emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative and spiritual potentials (Ron Miller). However, if we can trace back that this term of holistic education was originated from Islam. As quoted from Al-Qur'an Al-Ahzab verse 21: "Verily there is in (the self) the Messenger of Allah as a good example for you (that is) for those who wish (mercy) Allah and the (coming) of judgment day and he mentions God a lot. The Prophet Muhammad was sent by Allah to perfect and improve the morals of mankind as well as a good example.
