Abstract

The extended learning process of Arabic language teaching and its complex material can be frustrating for science and technology students, UIN Malang. Therefore, outdoor and outbound activities can be an alternative innovation and fun learning. This research applied mixed methods between descriptive qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that two listening games could increase students' motivation: chain whispering and numbered chairs. There are guessing word games for speaking skills, while for reading, there are arranging jumbled words, and for writing skills, there are jumbled letters that can be set and arranged to become meaningful words. The learning motivation was found high by distributing the questionnaire. Then the motivation category is instrumental since the foreign language, especially Arabic language learning, is considered practical compulsory instead of cultural approach through language teaching and learning
