Abstract
This study aims to reveal the professionalism of Islamic religious teachers in assessing cognitive domain learning in the classroom by focusing on how the instrument models and techniques for Islamic religious teachers in carrying out cognitive assessments of classroom learning and how the quality of the cognitive instruments of classroom assessments they do. This type of research is survey research that is descriptive exploratory. This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Sunan Kalijaga Malang. Due to the limitations of this study, the samples were Islamic religious teachers in grade 3 and grade 5. Data was collected using documentation/assessment sheets and interviews. Meanwhile, to solve the problem using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study showed that; 1. Models and techniques for making class assessment instruments used by Islamic religion teachers at MI Sunan Kalijaga Malang are following existing theoretical rules. 2. There are still questions made by the Islamic religion teacher that need to be revised and some need to be discarded. However, if viewed from the reliability of the questions, they have high reliability. Therefore, in the future, training for Islamic religious teachers still needs to be intensified to make good class assessment instruments.
