Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the effect of democratic leadership and work discipline on the performance of PDAM Giri Nawa Tirta employees, Pasuruan Regency, as well as to examine and analyze the effect of work discipline as a mediating variable in the relationship between democratic leadership and employee performance. This study uses quantitative research methods with explanatory research. The sample is all permanent employees of PDAM Giri Nawa Tirta, Pasuruan Regency, namely 33 people, using path analysis data analysis method. The results showed that: (1) democratic leadership had a significant positive effect on employee performance, (2) democratic leadership had a significant positive effect on work discipline, (3) work discipline had a significant positive effect on employee performance, (4) work discipline could mediate the influence of leadership. democracy on the performance of PDAM Giri Nawa Tirta employees, Pasuruan Regency.
