Abstract

Human life is closely related to language and its phenomena. Language plays an important role in conveying information, ideas and thoughts. One of the oldest languages in the world is Arabic which is a means of communication between nations both oral and written. This research aims to reveal the position of Arabic in Islamic education and open opportunities to develop more relevant learning methods. Not only focusing on linguistic understanding, this research also uses Arabic as the main bridge in spiritual and intellectual development. This research uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, collecting data from various library sources such as books, journals, theses, and others. The results showed that Arabic language learning is integrated in the development of education and technology, especially within the scope of Muslim academics. Arabic not only plays a role in education, but also as a symbol of Islam and a language that unites Muslims. The reasons for the importance of Arabic for religion and education are. First, it is the main source of Islamic teachings. Second, the books written by religious leaders in the fields of tafsir, hadith, fiqh, aqidah, and tasawwuf are also written in Arabic. Third, the study of Islamic science refers to sources in Arabic. Therefore, learning Arabic needs serious attention.
