Abstract

This book discusses character education as the primary foundation for developing intellectual and moral leadership in contemporary educational institutions. It presents a comprehensive theoretical framework by integrating philosophical, educational, psychological, and Islamic perspectives on character formation. The discussion covers the concepts of moral character, intellectual character, performance character, and civic character, as well as their relationship with leadership development. Furthermore, the book explains the systemic framework of character education, fundamental principles, implementation strategies in Indonesian educational contexts, and distinctive characteristics of Islamic character education. By synthesizing contemporary international literature with Islamic educational thought, this book offers a conceptual foundation for educators, researchers, students, and educational leaders in strengthening ethical, intellectual, and transformative leadership through character education.
