Abstract

fashion involvement of UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang’s students, class of 2015. This study used descriptive quantitative approach with 148 subjects obtained using probability simple random sampling technique with student samples UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang class of 2015. Data collected using 2 scales, which are self control scale and fashion involvement scale. It is known from the results of the validity test on the self control scale there are 21 valid items with a reliability score 0.783 and on the fashion involvement scale there are 15 valid items with a reliability score 0.782. Data analysis in this study used descriptive data analysis and simple linear regression. The results showed a significant positive effect of self control on fashion involvement. The results showed that the level of self control was in the medium category with a percentage of 78.38% and fashion involvement was in the medium category with a percentage of 76.35%. Based on the results of simple linear regression analysis, with significance 0,000 or p <0.05. In addition, an R Square value of 0.254 was obtained, indicating that 25.4% of fashion involvement was influenced by self control, and the remaining 74.6 was influenced by other factors not revealed in this study yet.
