Abstract

Interpretation ( interpretation ) and understanding ( understanding ) of a religious doctrine is very important and can affect one's behavior, in addition to the context of external situations and conditions. The interpretation of jihad as one of the Islamic doctrines is also interesting to explore, especially the understanding of the Bali Bombers on October 12, 2002. This study aims to understand their interpretation of jihad . The research method in collecting data uses observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis uses descriptive qualitative techniques that focus on the interpretation of terrorists. The findings are a doctrine has been interpreted and understood by them that the jihad was m encurahkan ability and kekuat 's, fight and fight enemies, ranging from the fight against the passions to take up arms to battle by hand, oral or liver. The Bali bombing was understood to be a form of fighting infidels as enemies
