Abstract

In this article, the writer will analyze the peace building terminologies used by Qur'an, with thematic – sociolinguistic approachs. Thematic approach is used to analyze the verses that contain the terms as salam, ihsan and islah/sulh, rahmah, afuw, hub which are closely related to peace building and non-violence movement. And the sociolinguistic approach used to analyze the meaning of those terms are commonly used in the Arab society when was Qur’an revealed.
